The data reveals that the capital recorded the highest number of crimes against women, senior citizens, and children, while also maintaining a disproportionately high rate of juvenile delinquency compared to cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru. Theft emerged as the city's most frequent offence, with Delhi accounting for nearly three-fourths of all property crimes registered across 19 major metros. While some categories like cybercrime and murder saw marginal declines, law enforcement officials attribute the high overall numbers to better reporting mechanisms and the increased use of digital platforms for filing complaints. Despite these administrative improvements, the city continues to face significant challenges regarding safety and public security across various vulnerable demographics.
